EIJS Research
We have four broad research programmes:
- The Japanese Economy: current emphasis is on Japanese trade and industrial policies, particularly competition and technology policy, and corporate strategy.
 - Japan and the European Union: examines trade and investment links between Japan and the EU, as well as the development of the ASEM process.
 - Japan in the World Economy: projects focus on Japanese business, politics, and foreign aid in an international context.
 - East Asian Development: projects look at Japan, China, Korea and the ASEAN countries in the global economy.

Leading scholars from around the world are regularly hosted by EIJS, using our facilities as a research base. Senior EIJS faculty are involved in many external joint projects with well-known institutions and scholars in Europe, Japan, other Asian countries, the Americas, and Australia and New Zealand.
