New appointment

The Stockholm School of Economics, Russia permanently strengthens its positions in the sector of business education. Appointment of Per Hedberg on the post of Academic director in Russia is a new confirmation of this.
Per Hedrick Hedberg, graduate of the Stockholm School of Economics and Columbian University, has master degrees in philosophy and arts and is doctor of psychology. He is author of a series of monographs and scientific articles dedicated to various disciplines: behavioral studies, social psychology and theory of motivation.
Hedberg has worked for the Stockholm School of Economics in Russia since 2006 and has earned reputation of excellent specialist and perfect lecturer. We wish him success in the new capacity and interesting productive work!

New program kicks off

The Stockholm School of Economics, Russia launched a 10-module training program, titled Sibur Business Academy, for the management of Sibur Group companies on 20 November 2008. The program will enroll 38 top executives from 16 Sibur companies, selected from 6,000 candidates proposed by the Group.
Module One of Sibur Business Academy, taught from 20 to 23 November at a retreat near Moscow, covered Business Development. The participants highly praised the quality of the training material and structure of the course.
We wish the Program Director, Evgeny Terukov, and all Program participants success and many illuminating discoveries in their teaching and learning.
The next Program module is scheduled for the end of January. The Program will run until June 2010.

SSE Marketing and Strategy institution is ranked №1 in Europe and №13 in the world.

Journal of Advertising” - the international publication, dedicated to advertising and marketing, has published the ranking of academic institutions’ advertising research. The Centre for Consumer Marketing that is a part of the institution for Marketing and Strategy at the Stockholm School of Economics is ranked №1 in Europe and №13 in the world.

The demand for educational programs with marketing focus keeps growing. To meet customer needs the Stockholm School of Economics in Russia has launched the Executive MBA program focused on marketing and development issues. Exactly at the program Executive MBA Strategic Market Development participants can meet professors from the institution for Marketing and Strategy of SSE in Stockholm, which won the prestige places at the “Journal of Advertising” rank.

On September 16th the StockholmSchool of Economics organized the Open Doors event in Moscow.

 This year the audience of the Open Doors got a unique opportunity to participate in the educational process of the Stockholm School of Economics.

Anders Liljenberg, the Dean of SSE Russia delivered the lecture about Marketing in today’s business environment and Johnny Linstrom, Associate Dean and Academic Director told the guests about School traditions and main principles of the educational process and shared his experience of teaching for Russian participants in SSE. Executive MBA Program Directors and other employees of SSE Russia were glad to answer a great number of questions at the end of the evening.

More than 60 guests participated at the Open Doors event this year!

On April 29 the gala presentation of Business Academy Novartis took place in the Hotel National, Moscow. The project was initiated by the pharmaceutical company Novartis Farma, international leader in creation and production of fundamentally new medications. The academy was organized in Russia on the basis of the Stockholm School of Economics.

The event took place under the general slogan of the Business Academy Novartis – “territory of professionalism”.

The main task of the academy is preparation of a new generation of top managers capable of fulfillment of multi-level managerial tasks and to combine deep knowledge of pharmaceutical business and foremost business technologies.

The educational program is intended for one year. The first group of students included 45 employees of 4 subdivisions ofљ Novartis Group – “Farma”, “Vaccines and Diagnostics”, “Sandoz” and “Consumer Health”.

The Stockholm School of Economics proudly presents the new book of its Professor and Tutor Igor Dukeov - «Strategy of Business Development. Practical Approach».

Seminars and lectures of Igor Dukeov are very much popular among SSE Russia participants. The new book includes up-to-date informational materials from the theoretical courses of Dr. Dukeov, as well as practical recommendations for marketing specialists. It will be more than useful as a reference manual for business strategy development, business planning and project management.

The Governor of Stockholm County Per Unckel visited the Stockholm School of Economics, Russia.

At the end of January Per Unckel arrived to St. Petersburg with the official visit. On January 31st he had a meeting with the City Governor Valentina Matvienko where they signed the “Development plan of co-operation between St. Petersburg and Stockholm County for 2008-2009”.

On February 1st Per Unckel visited the Stockholm School of Economics in St. Petersburg that recently celebrated its 10th jubilee of successful work in Russia. Mr. Unckel met directors of executive MBA programs and discussed the further development plans of the School in Russia. After that the Governor of Stockholm County addressed to the students and specially stressed their attention that the Stockholm School of Economics is an excellent example of Russian-Swedish co-operation in education and science spheres.

TRANSEARCH Russia

CAREER PLANNING FOR SSE RUSSIA PARTICIPANTS AND ALUMNI

The Stockholm School of Economics in Russia has signed an agreement with the TRANSEARCH Russia company.


The main goal of the agreement is further career development of SSE participants and alumni. Joint efforts of SSE and TRANSEARCH Russia will give SSE participants better idea about the local and international labor market, knowledge of the main trends of its development, and familiarize them with basic technologies of executive search.

According to the agreement the Stockholm School of Economics and the TRANSEARCH Russia will co-operate in the following directions:

- The TRANSEARCH Russia becomes an adviser in possible questions of career planning for SSE. participants and alumni. This includes phone consultations with TRANSEARCH professionals, different kind of seminars on career planning issues and International labor market trends.

- Olga Chebotkova, the Partner of the TRANSEARCH Russia will deliver lectures within the frames of the Executive MBA program for SSE participants.

- The TRANSEARCH Russia will conduct round tables, dedicated to the important up-to-date problems of Russian and foreign managers («Downshifting – deliberate choice or necessity?», «Emotional maturity of leaders», «Networking as effective business tool», etc.) with SSE participants.

- The TRANSEARCH Russia will present results of their researches for SSE participants and alumni. Themes for researches can be jointly developed with SSE or initiated by SSE itself.
