The Stockholm School of Economics’ Master in Finance program keeps its spot as the number one provider of finance master education in the Nordic and Baltic region, according to the Financial Times’ 2025 ranking. The program is also ranked among the top 30 in the world.

SSE has become the latest university to be welcomed into the CFA Institute University Affiliation Program. The MSc program in Finance has been acknowledged as incorporating at least 70 percent of the CFA Program curriculum and placing emphasis on the CFA Institute Code of Ethics and Standards of Professional Conduct within the program.

New research published in the Journal of Corporate Finance examines the impact of MiFID II's unbundling of research and execution costs on mutual fund investors, finding that investors did not significantly benefit from this regulatory change. This study uses early data from Sweden and highlights that unbundling did not lead to lower costs or improved fund performance for investors.

Gender equality is vital for global progress. As we near the 2025 Financing for Development conference, Maria Perrotta Berlin, Assistant Professor at SITE, stresses integrating gender into financing strategies. This includes fiscal policies, social protection, and climate finance to support women, particularly in low-income areas, promoting equality, resilience, and sustainable development.

The Stockholm School of Economics is establishing a new professorship in Finance, the 25th Anniversary Professor of Finance, to be held by Professor Paolo Sodini. The new chair is made possible by a donation from Anne Weidemanis Mägi and Joakim Weidemanis.

Professor Alexander Ljungqvist has been awarded the prestigious Advanced Grant by the European Research Council (ERC) as part of its flagship Horizon Europe program. He is the first researcher at SSE to receive the grant.
